Dear Rabbi, Spiritual Leader, and to the Children of Israel scattered amongst the nations,

It is taught:  If Israel will keep just one Shabbat properly, Mashiach will come immediately.

With the high holy days coming upon us and in particular the Day of Atonement; I feel that it is urgent to bring to mind that as long as we continue to observe the Julian (46 BC) / Gregorian (1582) calendar, instead of the Lunar calendar; we are not observing the Sabbath Day, according to the Laws of Moses.

God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate day from night; they shall serve as signs for the set times―the days and the years; and they shall serve as lights in the expanse of the sky to shine upon the earth."  And it was so.  God made the two great lights, the greater light to dominate the day and the lesser light to dominate the night, and the stars.  And God set them in the expanse of the sky to shine upon the earth, to dominate the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness.  And God saw that this was good.  And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

Genesis 1:14-19 (Torah)

Why are we using the Lunar calendar, when we observe the *holiest days set apart by God; but disregarding it the rest of the year?  When we observe the Sabbath Day, on Saturday, throughout the year; we are using the Gregorian calendar and not the Lunar calendar and therefore it is rarely ever observed at the set times, decreed in the Word of God.

*Please Note:  As long as we continue to follow the calculations of Hillel, instead of using the obvious signs that were given to us in the heavenly bodies; were still not observing even the holiest days set apart by God, at their set times, according to the Laws of Moses.  Because we are following the practices taught by Hillel, the holiest days are sometimes off by as many as one and sometimes two days.
